Lloyds TSB have recently rebranded. The typeface they used was designed by FontSmith, it is called FS Jack. The typeface is bold, very simple and legible but it doesn't look too corporate. The slight bends in some of the glyphs such as the Y and the crossbar on the A give it a friendlier look which is important for the identity of a bank, especially nowadays when people often find it difficult to trust banks.
I was reading on fontsmiths website about some of the character changes made to FS Jack to make it more suitable for Lloyds. Shown below is a change that they made to the y. Seeing as this is a prominent character in the name I think the changes they made are suitable.
