For studio brief 1 we are partaking in the Secret 7 competition. We have been asked to design a 7 inch vinyl sleeve cover. We were given a choice of 7 tracks, all by different bands and artists to design the cover for. I chose to do my cover for Massive Attack, KarmaComa. Massive Attack are one of my favourite bands and I am familiar with this track. I think that they will be an interesting band to design for.
We started by mind mapping ideas for visuals based around the songs and bands that we were all designing for. This was to try and get as many ideas down on paper as possible.
We were told to do 30 thumbnail sketches with ideas for the visuals of the covers. I started out in the lesson and very quickly managed to get 10 ideas down from the mind map. I really liked a few of my ideas but I will continue to work on these thumbnail sketches and try and get some more ideas down.
